Resumo: The area of Rio Claro and surroundings, due to its favorable natural conditions, is a region of encounter of paleoindian populations derived from other lands. Since 1959, 97 archeologic sites were recorded in Rio Claro and surroundings, but in the '80s the further research has been neglected. In recent years, new discoveries were made by the Speleological Group of Rio Claro (Espeleo Grupo de Rio Claro, EGRIC) in two shelters on Analândia, Toca do Índio and Abrigo da Onça, where rock paintings and artifacts were found. However, no systematic collection of archeologic data was performed nor laboratorial analyses were carried out. This study aims, basing on literature review and data collection, to elaborate a more robust archeologic interpretation of these shelters in order to obtain a refined identification of the paleoindian culture, as well as its chronological contextualization, and, if possible, the reappraisal of the regional archeological research. A data bank about the rock paintings, lithic flakes and its mineralogical composition was elaborated by the material collected, the reviewed bibliography and laboratory analyses

Desde estudos iniciados em 1959 já foram cadastrados 97 sítios arqueológicos em Rio Claro e região, mas na década de 80 os estudos arqueológicos da região foram deixados de lado. Nos últimos anos, descobertas foram feitas pelo grupo de espeleologia de Rio Claro (Espeleo Grupo de Rio Claro, EGRIC) em dois abrigos de Analândia, Toca do Índio e Abrigo da Onça, neles foram encontradas pinturas rupestres e peças líticas, consecutivamente. Contudo, não foram realizadas coletas de dados e análise laboratoriais dos materiais encontrados. Portanto, o projeto teve por objetivo, a partir da coleta de dados e revisão da literatura, realizar estudos arqueológicos mais acirrados desses abrigos. Possibilitando a construção de um banco de dados sobre as pinturas rupestres, as lascas, assim como sua constituição mineral através do material coletado, a bibliografia levantada e as analises de laboratório.
