A participação do auxiliar em saúde bucal na equipe de saúde bucal em municípios da região noroeste paulista e o ambiente de trabalho

The composition of the oral health team, health conditions and ergonomic factors in the work environment are important in dental care. In this study cross-sectional observational, aimed to examine the participation of dental auxiliary staff in the public service, check health questions, availability and distribution of equipment in the office. Data collection was performed through application of questionnaires and observations in local service. There were interviewed 75 dentists of 9 municipalities of DRS XV-SJ Rio Preto and assessed 34 practices. Of the total of 75 dentists, 21 (28%) worked alone, being 6 (29%) in schools and 15 (71%) at UBS. Of the 34 clinics, 2 (6%) showed no equipment sterilization and the ones that had, the autoclave was the most used 15 (44%). Of the clinics, 31 (91%) common garbage dumps and 23 (68%) contaminated waste were inadequate. Of the clinics, 13 (38%) didn't have the sink to wash hands, 23 (68%) had a paper towel rack, 20 (59%) adequate soap and in 5 (15%) the compressor was inside the office. About the clinic adequacy for the four handed work, they (n = 19) were all inadequate. It is concluded that the existence of the ASB was mainly in the CEO and ESF because of a legal requirement and inadequate ergonomic and sanitary conditions were founded, suggesting the need off reorganization in the management process
