Resumo: Considering the current demand for electricity to carry out various activities, both in urban areas and mainly in rural areas, the exploration and development of alternative sources of energy has been sought. The objective of this work is to construct a prototype of engine based on the water hammer, a phenomenon that allows ram-pumps to work and allows water to be pumped to higher levels. The main reason to build the prototype is to move the axis of a small electric generator aiming to microgeneration of electricity; it can also be used in other tasks.

O objetivo deste trabalho é construir um protótipo de motor à golpe de Aríete, fenômeno que possibilita o funcionamento do carneiro hidráulico e permite bombeamento de água a níveis mais elevados.
