Resumo: The wrong sizing of handle instruments can generate ergonomic problems. To know the anthropometry of the hands is indispensable for a correct sizing, especially how much the gender influences in this aspect. The objective of this study was quantitatively to evaluate the influence of the sort in the anthropometry of the hand human being. The results indicate that the differences are significant and that this factor must be considered in design of manual instruments.

Conhecer a antropometria das mãos é indispensável para um correto dimensionamento, especialmente o quanto o gênero influencia neste aspecto.
