Resumo: The work has for theme to understand the implementation of educational reforms in the decade of 1970 in the city of Bauru, because the city is a hub of academic reference of the central region of the State of São Paulo in Brazil. In this way, the work is committed to investigate the process of reorganization of basic and higher education system, as well as analyze their reflections on education in this region. He was subsidized by bibliographical and documental sources, using semi-structured interviews of a qualitative character
