Resumo: The following text are the records of the artistic processes developed in the production of tarot cards. Related to research that explores the language of drawing and its supports, composition and styling techniques, renovations of archetypal symbols and a brief introduction to the history of the tarot deck and its role in society. Based on the historical, graphic and esoteric references that the project was developed, the result was the creation of the cards to be presented next, each one related to one of the entitled “major arcane”, the 22 symbolic icons that represent a “higher” part of the tarot. At this stage of the research, the project first took charge of developing 22 cards based on the 16th century tarot deck, known as the “Marseille Tarot”. This project, in fact, aimed to create a tarot deck, based on the figurative and symbolic structures of the French tarot, but also on the elaboration of new designs for the arcane based on a collection of the artist's particular references. In this text, I will present the illustrations designed for this new tarot based on the values of the classic tarot and that these were elaborated from the references of the aesthetics of cartoons. Through this “subjective filter” the author can elaborate a new syncretic pact through the creation of new images for the tarot. Despite its apparent parody tone, the project legitimately seeks to remain faithful to the traditions of the ancient symbols present in the cards, seeking to create something that can also be as accessible as the sources on which this work draws. As we will be able to observe, through this research, the artifice of using the cartoon style was something that managed to create a convergence point between the themes, drawing and tarot, resulting in the process and realization of the project developed in this research.
