Resumo: The present work sought to analyze the feasibility of developing ecotourism in the Municipality of Ipeúna-SP, through remote sensing images, analyzes how much it has expanded the planting of sugar cane in the municipal perimeter. This work is a construction in partnership with the Nucleus of Agrarian Studies (NEA), Center for Analysis and Environmental Planning (CEAPLA) and the Department of Geography of the State University of São Paulo (UNESP) - Rio Claro Campus, and the Municipality of Ipeúna. In the work, high resolution images of Dove PlanetScope sensor from Planet, with a 3.5 meter spatial resolution, were used to update the mapping of the area of cane coverage previously performed in 2010. This study also sought theoretical foundation and analysis on the possibility of creation and development of ecotourism activity in the municipality, replacing the agricultural activity We could identify that this objective conflicts with the possible reality of land use in the region, since the city is inserted in a region of monoculture expansion, with few natural landscapes still remaining

Esse trabalho é uma construção em parceria com o Núcleo de Estudos Agrários (NEA), Centro de Análise e Planejamento Ambiental (CEAPLA) e do Departamento de Geografia da Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) - Campus de Rio Claro, e da Prefeitura do Município de Ipeúna. No trabalho, foram utilizadas imagens de alta resolução do sensor Dove PlanetScope, da empresa Planet, com resolução espacial de 3.5 metros, para atualização do mapeamento da área de cobertura de cana realizado previamente no ano de 2010. Este estudo buscou também fundamentação teórica e análise sobre a possibilidade de criação e desenvolvimento de atividade de ecoturismo no município, em substituição à atividade agrícola.
