Resumo: This work aimed to perform a spatial and temporal analysis of the physical and chemical variables of the water in the river channel and correlate them with the environmental conditions (physical environment and land use) of the hydrographic basin in the perspective of the connectivity between the river channels and the its watershed. The study area refers to the Santo Anastácio River Basin at UPH Santo Anastácio, belonging to the Water Resources Management Unit (UGRHI) 22, and belongs to the area of operation of the Watershed Committee of Pontal do Paranapanema (CBH-PP), located in the Pontal do Paranapanema region in Western Paulista (Brazil). To achieve the proposed objective, the following steps were taken: data collection in the field in sampling sections in different cross sections in the river channel, laboratory analysis, analysis of the physical environment in the hydrographic basin, land use and coverage and integrated use of a geographic information system to identify the connectivity between the characteristics of the hydrographic basin and the water in the river channel, in addition to a comparative study of other periods of analysis. The study leads to the understanding of the environmental status of the hydrographic basin and the longitudinal profile of the river through the six sampling sections that showed the differentiation of sections 1 and 6 from the others due to their location (source and mouth of the river, respectively), while sections 2, 3, 4 and 5 appear to be closer in behavior. Regarding the variables, it is possible to observe 2 subgroups of good correlations between the variables of the channel and that of the hydrographic basin, one has dissolved oxygen, average mean speed, urban and forest uses, dissection (Apf / Atf) and lithology (Kc) and the other has the relationship between Pva and Dc, average water and air temperature, slope (3-6% and 6-12%), pasture and lithology (Ka5). The study made possible an integrated analysis by means of cluster analysis understanding the functional connectivity (relations of the physical environment to the longitudinal profile of the river which in turn is related to the hydraulic geometry of the sampling sections) and structural (the environment variables physical, land use and coverage, the longitudinal profile of the river, the hydraulic geometry of the river channel and the limnology of the sections along the river) of the elements that make up the hydrographic basin.
