Extrato do chá verde como terapia coadjuvante ao tratamento mecânico da periodontite experimental

Resumo: This study evaluated the alveolar bone loss (ABL), via photometric analysis, the influence of adjuvant therapy with green tea extract (Camellia sinenses) associated with the mechanical treatment of experimental periodontitis (EP). 60 rats were randomly set into 4 groups (n = 15): SPE: only the simulation of EP inducing act on the first molar. PE: Induction of EP. PE-RAR-SS: induction of EP and after 7 days these animals were submitted to scaling and root planing (SRP) followed by subgingival irrigation with 1 mL of brine. PE-RAR-CH: Induction EP and after 7 days of induction these animals were SRP, followed by subgingival irrigation with green tea extract solution (20mg / ml). After 14, 22 and 37 days of induction of EP, 5 animals from each group were euthanized. The hemimandibles collected were processed, positioned on the stand table and analyzed using the photometric method. Data were statistically analyzed (ANOVA and Tukey - Bioestat 5.0; p = 0.05). The simulation of EP induction at the first molar area did not promote ABL, and the different EP induction periods promoted progressive ABL. The mechanical treatment associated with saline solution did not reduce the ABL, while the association with green tea extract promoted ABL reduction when compared with PE-RAR-SS and PE, in the respective periods. Within the limits of this study it is concluded that the adjuvant therapy with green tea extract promoted reduction in the ABL, been a possible solution for supporting the treatment of periodontal disease

Foram utilizados 60 ratos machos, distribuídos em 4 grupos (n=15): SPE: apenas a simulação do ato da indução da PE no primeiro molar inferior. PE: indução da PE. PE-RAR-SS: indução da PE e após 7 dias estes animais foram submetidos à raspagem e alisamento radicular (RAR) seguido da irrigação subgengival com 1 ml de solução salina. PE-RAR-CH: indução da PE e após 7 dias da indução estes animais foram submetidos à RAR seguido da irrigação subgengival com solução de extrato de chá verde (20mg/ml). Após 14, 22 e 37 dias da indução da PE, 5 animais de cada grupo foram eutanasiados. As hemimandíbulas coletadas foram processadas, posicionadas em mesa estativa e analisadas utilizando o método fotométrico por meio do programa de imagem Image J 1.49 V (National Institutes of Health, USA). Os dados coletados foram analisados estatisticamente (ANOVA e Tukey - Bioestat 5.0; p≤0,05). A simulação de indução da PE não promoveu POA na área do primeiro molar nos diferentes períodos e a indução da PE promoveu progressiva POA no decorrer dos períodos. O tratamento mecânico associado à solução salina não reduziu a POA enquanto a associação com o extrato de chá verde promoveu redução da POA quando comparado com os PE-RAR-SS e PE, nos respectivos períodos.
