Resumo: | The first experimental measurement of blood pressure was made in 1711 and since then there have been many advances in medicine that led to new information about this disease. Hypertension, usually known as “high pressure”, is the maintenance of the blood pressure to values above those considered normal (120/80 mmHg), is a chronic disease, multifactorial and considered one of the more common cardiovascular risk factors. Being influenced by many environmental and behavioral aspects, the health education become indispensable to prevent and to treat this disease. To facilitate the learning process, this study aimed to develop an educational material about hypertension, designed in the shape of comic strip, with basic information about physiological processes on blood pressure and the cares to prevent the hypertension, an innovate and insightful way. |

Hipertensión arterial, generalmente llamada de "tensión alta", consiste en la mantención de la tensión arterial sistémica para valores más altos de los considerados normales (120/80 mmHg), es una enfermedad crónica, multifactorial y considerada uno de los factores de riesgo cardiovasculares más comunes. Como es influenciada por diversos aspectos ambientales y comportamentales, la educación en salud se hace muy necesaria como medio de prevención y tratamiento de esta enfermedad. Buscando facilitar el proceso de aprendizaje, este estudio tuvo el objetivo de elaborar un material educativo sobre hipertensión, en formato de cómic, con informaciones básicas respecto a procesos fisiológicos sobre tensión arterial y los cuidados para evitar la hipertensión, de una manera clara e innovadora.A primeira medida experimental da pressão arterial foi feita em 1711 e, desde então, muitos foram os avanços na medicina que conduziram às novas informações acerca dessa doença. Hipertensão arterial, comumente conhecida como “pressão alta”, trata-se da manutenção da pressão arterial sistêmica para valores acima dos considerados normais (120/80 mmHg), é uma doença crônica, multifatorial e considerada como um dos fatores de risco cardiovasculares mais comuns. Por ser influenciada por vários aspectos ambientais e comportamentais, a educação em saúde faz-se imprescindível para prevenir e tratar essa doença.
