Resumo: The 1970 was a very important period for both geography, renewing criticism of geographical thought, and various movements which have gained strength, including the feminist movement at the Academy, that arose from the dispute of women regarding male and hegemonic science. Within this context emerged in the countries of the North axis the geographies feminists that entered the gender studies in geographical science, and stressed the importance of inserting the women's category in scientific studies. In this sense, the present work researched the role and performance of women at the Academy as a geographer in three State universities of the State of São Paulo, through analyses of the Faculty of Geography and through questionnaires and field of each professional, in order to identify how gender relations act at the Academy and the contribution of the female gaze to geographical science

Dentro desse contexto emergiram nos países do eixo-norte as Geografias Feministas, que inseriram os Estudos de Gênero na ciência geográfica, e salientaram a importância de se inserir a categoria mulher no corpo científico.
