Resumo: The gastronomy can be considered an intangible heritage, as it is a cultural element that is passed from mother to daughter. Thus, this paper seek to reflect on the past cultural identity for future generations through gastronomy developed in the Settlement Porto Maria, municipality of Rosana/ SP. With this, the aim of this study is to analyze the origin of the settlement gastronomy, checking the interest of women to pass on this knowledge. Addressing a reflection on the importance of gastronomic transfer to this new generation, as a cultural trait. To be carried out this work, held weekly field research with women, based on interviews with open and closed questions where identified with the answers to the origin of food, often from their families, and check that the plates are seen as an important cultural element, which aim to keep them.

Sendo assim, o presente trabalho buscar refletir sobre a identidade cultural passada para as futuras gerações através da gastronomia desenvolvida no Assentamento Porto Maria, município de Rosana/SP. Com isto, o objetivo do trabalho é analisar a origem da gastronomia do assentamento, verificando o interesse das assentadas em repassar esse conhecimento. Abordou-se, desta forma, uma reflexão sobre a importância desse repasse gastronômico para as novas gerações, como um traço cultural.
