The rural tourism is a range of touristic activities developed in rural areas, committed with the agrarian productions, but this activity is seen as a non-agricultural activity, contributing in a positive way at the local economy. In this way, the implementation of rural tourism becomes necessary in making the inventory technique for obtaining potential data of natural attractions at agricultural productions. According to this, the study area is the Assentamento Porto Maria, located at Pontal do Paranapanema and between Assentamento Gleba XVde Novembro and Parana River. The inventory is coordinated by Ph. D. Rosângela Custódio Cortez Thomaz and PET/GEPTER team that they going out to the countryside, once a month, for the inventory process. This project has been in development for over a year, and it’s in the final level. The agrarian lends is actually consists in 41 lots and 30 of these have already been inventoried, and what is perceived by the results obtained so far is that the agrarian areas has the potential to develop rural tourism, but needs general infrastructure and tourist facilities to be able to receive tourists. Therefore, the inventory process will be an analytical tool in checking the strengths and weaknesses of the agrarian lands and which improvements and adjustments that must be made for the development of rural tourism at the Assentamento Porto Maria/SP.
