Televisão e desenvolvimento moral: análise de conteúdos sociomorais presentes nos desenhos animados

Resumo: Based on Jean Piaget’s theory, this research investigates the most watched cartoons by children and analyses the social-moral contents in those cartoons. The field research consisted of a survey among 162 students attending elementary school, in a public school of a city in São Paulo state. Among the most watched cartoons were Woody Woodpecker and SpongeBob SquarePants. Forty minutes of episodes were recorded, by making use of observation, register and analysis of social-moral behavior shown in those episodes in order to identify the most present moral tendency according to the anomy, the heteronomy or the moral autonomy. The results showed that in the studied cartoons, the most predominant type of moral was the heteronomy. Based on this data, it was discussed the effects of transmission of contents identified in the moral development of the children.

Based on this data, it was discussed the effects of transmission of contents identified in the moral development of the children.Embasada na teoria de Jean Piaget, esta pesquisa teve como objetivo investigar os desenhos animados mais assistidos pelas crianças e analisar seus conteúdos sociomorais. Foi realizada a aplicação de um questionário em 162 crianças do Ensino Fundamental, de uma escola pública do interior paulista. Dentre os desenhos mais assistidos, compareceram o Pica-Pau e o Bob Esponja. Foram gravados quarenta minutos de seus episódios, e realizados a observação, o registro e a mensuração dos comportamentos veiculados para a identificação da tendência moral mais presente, conforme aspectos relacionados à anomia, à heteronomia ou à autonomia. Os resultados demonstraram a predominância da moral da heteronomia.
