Resumo: The school failure of the working classes has been a present reality since when access to education was guaranteed by law to this new clientele. The scientific productions that approach this subject point to diverse theoretical conceptions, in relation to the causes attributed to the failure of the poor layers. Faced with the urgency, facing this problem that haunts both educators, government and collectivity, this research aims to understand what leads poor children to school failure, through what has been exposed in the national literature in the last five years.Using the bibliographic methodology of a qualitative nature, the study will be carried out, through the collection of articles published in Scielo's database in the last five years, from 2013 to 2017, verifying the perspectives present in these surveys on the failure of the popular classes

As produções científicas que abordam esse assunto apontam para diversas concepções teóricas, em relação às causas atribuídas ao fracasso das camadas pobres. Diante da urgência, frente à essa problemática que assombra, tanto educadores, quanto governo e coletividade, a presente pesquisa tem como objetivo compreender o que leva as crianças pobres ao fracasso escolar, mediante ao que está exposto na literatura nacional nos últimos cinco anos.
