Resumo: Since the 90s decade, educational policies has emphasized the link between large-scale assessments and educational quality. Academic studies have pointed out the influence of these assessments in the school routine, especially when its results are related to “awards” for the educational institutions and for education professionals. Some of the consequences observed, was the competition in educational environment and adoption of external settled criteria to organize the pedagogical work planning. This research has as main objective, assay the pedagogical and assessment practices of an elementary state school in an inland city of São Paulo state, considered to be a quality school ranked in the IDESP (São Paulo Elementary Education Index) and IDEB (Brazil‟s Elementary Education Index) in 2011, focusing on classes of grade 5 of elementary school. It is a qualitative research, ethnographic, based in observations made in classrooms of grade 5 and in collective meetings at school, such as: Classes of Collective and Pedagogical Work, Planning, Elementary Education Class Council, Parents Meeting, Institutional Assessment and Saresp Reflections. Was also made a document analysis of Management Plan, Political-Pedagogical Project, Grade 5 Teaching Plan, School Report Cards of IDEB, IDESP and Prova Brasil; interviews with students and teachers of grade 5 and with the management team (School Coordinator, School Principal and Vice Principal). Considering that large-scale assessments can supply relevant information to schools and for public policies, this research problematizes the schooling which has being proposed trough this educational public policies which uses, in a managerialist way, the assessments to adjust and fit the “school production”. In relation to school chosen as study object, we observed that it‟s...Desde a década de 1990, as políticas educacionais têm enfatizado a articulação das avaliações em larga escala com a qualidade educacional. Pesquisas acadêmicas apontam a influência dessas avaliações no cotidiano escolar, principalmente quando seus resultados levam à “premiação” das instituições de ensino e dos profissionais da educação. Algumas das consequências verificadas são a competitividade no âmbito educacional e a adoção de critérios estabelecidos externamente para organizar o trabalho pedagógico na escola. Em vista disso, esta pesquisa tem como objetivo principal analisar as práticas pedagógicas e avaliativas de uma escola estadual do interior paulista com bons resultados no Índice de Desenvolvimento da Educação do Estado de São Paulo (Idesp) e no Índice de Desenvolvimento da Educação Básica (Ideb) de 2011, tomando como foco as turmas do 5o ano do ensino fundamental (ciclo I). Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, de cunho etnográfico, embasada na observação em sala de aula das duas turmas do 5o ano e das reuniões coletivas da escola, tais como as Aulas de Trabalho Pedagógico Coletivo, o planejamento, os Conselhos de Classe do ciclo I, a reunião de pais, a avaliação institucional e a reflexão do Saresp. Também foi feita a análise documental dos Planos de Gestão; do Projeto Político-Pedagógico; do Plano de Ensino do 5o ano; dos boletins da escola no Idesp, Ideb, Saresp e Prova Brasil; e das entrevistas com os alunos e professoras do 5o ano, bem como com a equipe gestora (coordenadora, vice-diretora e diretora). Levando em conta que as avaliações em larga escala podem fornecer informações relevantes para a escola e para as políticas públicas, a presente pesquisa problematiza o ensino que está sendo proposto de acordo com essas avaliações, usadas de forma gerencialista para regular a “produção escolar”.
