Facebook is a very popular social network in Brazil and it is growing every year. It is a cyberspace that encourages interaction between people around the world through postings, photos, comments, and other online resources. Through the studies of Sociolinguistics and the relationship between language and society, it was possible to notice that there are other varieties and innumerable deviations in the speech of the individual when analyzed from the perspective of normative grammar. It is in this context of conflict between spoken language and normative grammar that linguistic prejudice will arise, it is the non-acceptance by other individuals of other forms of manifestation of mother tongue, that is, manifestations that are out of the norm established by normative grammar, the one taught in school. Facebook interaction tools are used as the stage for exposing this prejudice, either as a testimony of the victims or in the form of humiliation in the users' own posts. The objective of this work is to bring a reflection on how and why linguistic prejudice is present on Facebook and to show how didactic materials of great circulation treat the subject and how they can contribute to soften this type of prejudice. For the preparation of this work, first, was done a bibliographical survey in the area of Linguistics with a focus on Sociolinguistics. We compiled a corpus of posts made on Facebook and their respective comments to analyze the linguistic prejudice conveyed in this network, as well as testimonies posted on Facebook itself by users. An analysis of the topic was also made in didactic materials of great circulation (handouts and books). The result of the analysis is that few materials adress the issue of linguistic variety and, in general - for both Facebook users and writers of materials, the difference between Portuguese Language and Grammar is not evident.
