Resumo: This thesis is linked to the line of research Foundations of Education of the Postgraduate Program in Education at the University of Passo Fundo and is aimed at investigating a temporality that brings education and experience together, considering the latter according to Walter Benjamin and Jorge Larrosa. The guiding principle of the research is the time of work established with the industrial capitalism, understanding that time changed as long as work moved closer to the notion of performance and productivity. In this sense, the guiding question is: which temporality can bring education and experience together? The main purpose is to propose a temporality that meets such a demand, starting from the principle that the meaning of educational time must be reviewed, so as to transcend the time constructed and established by and for capitalism and later explored by the neoliberal system. In terms of methodology, this research has qualitative approach and follows theoretical-bibliographical procedures and applies a hermeneutical perspective to account for the analysis, which allows moving to and fro across texts, and thus appropriate ideas and merge them with the researcher’s understanding. In order to meet the premises of the research, the thesis is organised into three chapters. The first one tries to understand time from the perspective of the first and second stages of industrial capitalism and how temporality was established in education after that. The second chapter seeks for a change in the structure of work with the flexibilization coming from the Eastern model of production and analyses temporality and the development of the subject in neoliberalism. Still in the same chapter, time in the neoliberal school is unveiled, considering the theory of human capital. The third chapter proposes educational temporality as a breach in chronological time, a fissure, so as to establish free time, close to the scholée, though ephemeral, a non-productivist, rather contemplative temporality, so it will be possible to bring education closer to experience.

O fio condutor da pesquisa foi o tempo do trabalho instaurado com o capitalismo industrial, apresentando o modo como este restou significativamente alterado na medida em que o trabalho se aproximou da ideia de rendimento e produtividade. A tese teve como base a seguinte pergunta orientadora: Qual temporalidade pode aproximar a educação da experiência? Nela, propõe-se uma temporalidade que atenda essa questão, partindo do princípio de que é preciso rever o sentido do tempo educativo com vistas a ultrapassar o tempo construído e instaurado pelo e para o capitalismo, posteriormente intensificado também em sua versão neoliberal. Em termos metodológicos, a pesquisa seguiu um enfoque qualitativo de cunho teórico-bibliográfico quanto aos seus procedimentos e, para dar conta da análise, recorreu à perspectiva hermenêutica. Esta foi utilizada por permitir um ir e voltar aos textos dos autores estudados, de modo a apropriar-se de suas ideias e articulá-las com o entendimento da pesquisadora sobre a problemática de investigação. Para dar conta dos propósitos da pesquisa, a tese está dividida em três capítulos, cujo primeiro procura compreender o tempo a partir do trabalho no capitalismo industrial e o modo como instituiu-se uma temporalidade consoante a ele na educação. O segundo capítulo busca mostrar a modificação da estrutura do trabalho resultante da flexibilização advinda do modelo oriental de produção e analisa a temporalidade e a formação do sujeito no neoliberalismo. Ainda nesse capítulo, o tempo da escola neoliberal é descortinado, considerando a teoria do capital humano. O terceiro capítulo apresenta a proposição de uma temporalidade educativa como brecha no tempo cronológico, de modo a instaurar um tempo livre, ainda que efêmero, aproximado do sentido da temporalidade da Skholé.
