Resumo: Innovation is fundamental to socioeconomic development, but just as important as creation is the protection of intangible assets. The management of intellectual property is a way to protect creations and add value to them. In technology-based incubators, incubated companies have the potential to generate new business, and hence the need for proper protection of intangible assets. This research aims to analyze how technology-based incubators in Santa Catarina contribute to the management of the intellectual property of incubated enterprises. In the end, it is concluded that the management of intellectual property in technology-based incubators in Santa Catarina is still incipient, as it was identified that few practices are adopted for the protection of intangible assets.

A gestão da propriedade intelectual é uma forma de proteger as criações e agregar valor a elas. Nas incubadoras de base tecnológica, as empresas incubadas têm potencialidade de gerar novos negócios, e daí surge a necessidade da devida proteção dos ativos intangíveis. Esta pesquisa tem o objetivo de analisar como as incubadoras de base tecnológica em Santa Catarina contribuem com a gestão da propriedade intelectual dos empreendimentos incubados.
