Difficulties in Mothering in a Group of Mothers of Aggressive Children

Resumo: | Winnicott considered aggression in the school environment one of the manifestations of antisocial tendency, due to early emotional deprivation. With this assumption and to ensure a successful work with aggressive children, he suggested itwould be advisable to provide the protective and stable environment they lacked. Dueto the lack of studies directly addressing these mothers, we aimed to investigate the psychological functioning of mothers of aggressive boys between 8 and 12 years old. Thirty mothers, whose children were undergoing psychological treatment, were assessed through two psychodiagnostic interviews, one regarding the child and the other regarding the mother (Edao). The results showed weak emotional regulation, difficulty in establishing interpersonal contact, feelings of insecurity, anxiety and depressive tendency. Such characteristics could have a negative effect on the performance of maternal functions, reducing the possibility of providing their children with a protective and stable environment. |

Con esta hipótesis, sugirió que, para tratar de asegurar un trabajo exitoso con niños agresivos, sería aconsejable proporcionar un entorno protector y estable que carecía. Debido a la falta de estudios que incluyen directamente a estas madres, esta investigación trata de analizar el funcionamiento psicológico de las madres de niños agressivos entre 8 y 12 años de edad. Treinta madres que tenían a sus hijos en el tratamiento psicológico se sometieron a dos entrevistas de psicodiagnóstico, un con respecto al niño y otro sobre si mismas (Edao). Los resultados mostraron frágil regulación emocional, dificultad para establecer contacto interpersonal, sentimientos de inseguridad, ansiedad y tendencia depresiva. Tales características podrían tener un efecto negativo en el desempeño de las funciones maternas, lo que reduce la posibilidad de proporcionar a los niños un entorno protector y estable.A agressividade no ambiente escolar foi considerada por Winnicott uma das manifestações de tendência antissocial decorrente de privação emocional precoce. Com esse pressuposto, sugeriu que, para tentar garantir um trabalho bem-sucedido com crianças agressivas, seria aconselhável oferecer um ambiente protetor e estável que lhes faltou. Devido à escassez de estudos envolvendo diretamente mães de crianças agressivas, esta pesquisa buscou investigar o funcionamento psíquico de mães de meninos entre 8 e 12 anos que apresentavam queixa de agressividade no ambiente escolar. Trinta mães que tinham seus filhos em atendimento psicológico foram submetidas a duas entrevistas psicodiagnósticas, uma sobre o filho e outra sobre ela mesma (Edao). Os resultados evidenciaram frágil controle das emoções, dificuldade no estabelecimento de contato interpessoal, sentimentos de insegurança, de angústia e tendência depressiva.
