Resumo: The article situates the historical processes that put the concept of integrality in scene, through a contextualization about the construction of SUS, placing the principles that support health policies and its relations with the integrality. In the field of collective health, the term began to win many senses, as in this study, that associated it to the complexity and transdisciplinarity. Redeems the process of building the brazilian psychiatric reform, to reflect about the possibilities of practice of integrality in mental health. The concept of comprehensiveness is perceived as being imbricated throughout reflection on changes in models of health care, expressing the wish to build a society more just and more solidary. they are shown possible the links between the integrality and the complex thinking, associated with the issues of mental health as an alternative to overcome the traditional models that still there.

En materia de salud colectiva, el término comenzó a ganar muchos sentidos, como en este estudio, asociada a la complejidad y transdisciplinario. Rescata el proceso de construcción del brasileño reforma psiquiátrica, a reflexionar acerca de las posibilidades de práctica de integralidad en salud mental. El concepto de integralidad es percibido como están entrelazados por toda reflexión sobre los cambios en los modelos de atención sanitaria, expresando el deseo de construir una sociedad más justa y más solidaridad. Son posibles los vínculos entre la integralidad y el pensamiento complejo, asociados con las cuestiones de salud mental como alternativa para superar los modelos tradicionales que todavía existen.O artigo situa os processos históricos que colocam o conceito da integralidade em cena, através de uma contextualização acerca da construção do SUS, situando os princípios que embasam as políticas de saúde e suas relações com a integralidade. No campo da saúde coletiva, o termo passou a ganhar inúmeros sentidos, como no presente estudo, que o associa à complexidade e à transdisciplinaridade. Resgata o processo de construção da reforma psiquiátrica brasileira, para refletir sobre as possibilidades de práticas de integralidade na saúde mental. O conceito da integralidade é percebido como estando imbricado em toda reflexão sobre as mudanças nos modelos de atenção em saúde, expressando o desejo de construção de uma sociedade mais justa e mais solidária.
