LIMIT SITUATION IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION: CONTRADICTIONS AND POSSIBILITIES OF INTERVENTION

Resumo: This work is placed in the framework of school psychology. Its development tried to discuss the application of the concept of limit-situation, created by Ignacio Martín-Baró, to the context of childhood education. This concept emphasizes the relationship between risk, vulnerability and protection from the dialectical materialist perspective . Through a documentary investigation based on participatory-action-research, we conducted an interpretive process culminating in the development of categories that are representative of the limit situations for the development of children. The contents of these categories indicate that the situations which constitute boundaries for children’s development surpass the pedagogical issues and involve the health and welfare policies and the risk elements such as trafficking and violence. This emphasizes the emergence of the limit-situation idea as a theoretical and practical contribution to the field of school psychology.

Se logró discutir la aplicación del concepto de situación-límite, esbozado por Ignacio Martín Baró, en el contexto de la educación preescolar. Tal concepto enfatiza la relación entre riesgo, factores protectores y vulnerabilidade a partir de la perspectiva materialista de base dialéctica. Por medio de una investigación documental de las características de la pesquisa-acción-participante, se condujo un proceso constructivo-interpretativo que culminó en la construcción de categorías representativas de lo que se entiende como situación-límite para el desarrollo de los niños. El contenido de estas categorías indica que las situaciones que se constituyen como límites para el desarrollo de los niños transponen las cuestiones pedagógicas y envuelven políticas de salud y asistencia, además de elementos de riesgo como el tráfico y la violencia. Así, se concluye la emergencia del concepto de situación-límite como una contribución teórica y práctica en el campo de psicología escolar.  Este trabalho está circunscrito nos marcos da psicologia escolar. Sua realização buscou discutir a aplicação do conceito de situação-limite, delineado por Ignacio Martín-Baró, ao contexto da educação infantil. Tal conceito enfatiza a relação entre risco, proteção e vulnerabilidade a partir da perspectiva materialista de base dialética. Por meio de uma investigação documental com as características da pesquisa-ação- -participante, conduzimos um processo construtivo-interpretativo que culminou na elaboração de categorias representativas do que sejam situações-limite para o desenvolvimento das crianças. O conteúdo dessas categorias indica que as situações que se constituem como limites para o desenvolvimento das crianças ultrapassam as questões pedagógicas e envolvem as políticas de saúde e assistência, além de elementos de risco como tráfico e violência.
