Relationship Between School Inclusion of Children with Cerebral Palsy and Stress of Family Caregivers

Resumo: The objective of this study was to evaluate the stress of cerebral palsy child’s caregiver and to discuss its relationship with the inclusion. The study was conducted with 18 family caregivers of CP children attended in a special service directed to disabled people, and were regularly enrolled in an elementary school. For data collection, the short form of questionnaire on resources and stress (QRS-F) and an interview with 41 questions were u sed. Most of the family caregivers presented low stress. Significant correlations among factors that compose the stress were found. A weak positive correlation was found bet ween stress and conditions that can favor the CP children’s school inclusion. It is pointed out that attention to this population can be an important part of the effective construction of school inclusion.

Asistió a 18 familiares cuidadores de niños con PC, con la asistencia en servicio especializado para personas con discapacidad y regularmente matriculados en escuelas primarias. Para recolección de los datos, utilizó la forma corta del cuestionario recursos y estrés (QRS-F) y guía de entrevista con 41 preguntas. Mayoría de cuidadores familiares presentan estrés considera bajo. Se encontraron correlaciones significativas entre algunos de los cuatro factores que componen el estrés. Los resultados mostraron una débil correlación positiva entre estrés y condiciones que pueden favorecer inclusión escolar de los niños con PC. Se hace hincapié em que atención a esta población puede ser una parte importante del proceso para la construcción efectiva de la inclusión escolar.O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o estresse de cuidadores de criança com paralisia cerebral (PC) e discutir a sua relação com a inclusão. Participaram 18 cuidadores familiares de crianças com PC, atendidas em serviço especializado destinado a pessoas com deficiência e regularmente matriculadas em escolas de ensino fundamental. Para a coleta de dados, utilizaram-se a forma abreviada do questionário de recursos e estresse (QRS-F) e um roteiro de entrevista com 41 perguntas. A maioria dos cuidadores familiares apresentou estresse considerado baixo. Foram encontradas correlações significantes entre alguns dos quatro fatores que compõem o estresse. Evidenciou- se uma fraca correlação positiva entre o estresse e as condições que podem favorecer a inclusão escolar das crianças com PC.
