Nas últimas décadas, a literatura brasileira tem abordado constantemente os sintomas ori-ginados pela configuração do capitalismo tardio (JAMESON, 1997), trazendo à tona, desse modo, um mal-estar conseqüente, tanto das abordagens sobre os marginalizados, quanto da própria dificuldade de se ler o mundo urbano atual (BUENO, 2002). Diante da impossibilidade de se fornecer um imaginário totalizante de Cidade (GOMES, 1994), alguns escritores tentam expressá-la por meio de fragmentos, os quais ocasionam o estranhamento típico da literatura mais recente, diante deste mundo aparente-mente ilegível. O presente artigo pretende analisar como se dá a realização de Cidade, no livro de mi-nicontos 100 histórias colhidas na rua (1996), de Fernando Bonassi, tendo como base as questões sobre Representação, além das mais importantes implicações estéticas e políticas que surgem a partir delas.THE CITY’ MALAISE IN FERNANDO BONASSIIn recent decades, Brazilian literature has frequently approached the symptoms generated by the configuration of late capitalism (Jameson. 1997), highlighting a consequent malaise, both from the approaches on the marginalized ones, as the very difficulty of view the current urban world (Bueno. 2002). Facing the im-possibility of providing an imaginary totalitarian City (Gomes. 1994), some writers try to express it through fragments, which cause the estrangement typical of recent literature, against this world apparently unreadable. This present article seeks to analyze how the performance of the City is in the book minitales 100 stories col-lected on the street, of Fernando Bonassi, based on the questions about Representation, beyond the most impor-tant esthetic and political implications that arise from them.
