Resumo: The first chapter evaluated the effect of adding maniçoba associated with cactus pear in the diet of sheep on the profile of biochemical indicators of energy and protein metabolism. One design was conducted in a randomized block design in which 24 male sheep were used without defined breed, with a mean body weight of 20 kg and a mean age of six months, were divided equally into three treatments: concentrate + hay Tifton 85 hay + concentrate maniçoba and concentrate + silage maniçoba. There were four blood samples at intervals of 15 days (0d, 15d, 30d and 45d). Higher dry matter intake was observed in the group with maniçoba hay. Treatment with silage maniçoba showed differences (P <0.05) in the consumption of neutral detergent fiber. There was variation in the concentration of urea in the animals fed the diet consisted of hay maniçoba. Both hay and silage maniçoba, up to 30%, can replace the Tifton 85 hay for feeding finishing animals, effectively keeping the intake of dry matter, protein metabolism, energy and mineral, and be a good alternative for feeding sheep. In chapter 32 sheep without defined breed, neutered males, with an average initial weight of 20 kg and age of eight months to assess the metabolic response and renal function replacement maniçoba hay (Manihot pseudoglaziovvi Muell Arg.) Were used for cactus pear (Napolea cochenillifera Salm Dyck) petite range 90; 33.0; 67.0 and 100.0%) in the diet of growing sheep. There were six blood samples at intervals of 15 days (0d, 15d, 30d, 45d, 60d and 75d). All blood variables did not affect the level of substitution of hay maniçoba by spineless cactus. Urinary concentrations of urea, creatinine, K, are influenced by diet, with decreased linearly. The level of urinary glucose excretion, as well as the fractional excretion of urinary glucose increased linearly. The substitution of hay for forage cactus maniçoba decreases the consumption of crude protein, ether extract and neutral detergent fiber, contributed significantly to meet the water needs of animals, causing no changes on the metabolic profile and renal function.

Submitted by Mario BC (mario@bc.ufrpe.br) on 2022-07-21T17:48:50Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Luciana Neves Farias de Gouveia.pdf: 544452 bytes, checksum: aedd631e3ae3d68f89401960fcc9083d (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2022-07-21T17:48:50Z (GMT).
