Resumo: The experimental study with nauplii of Dendrocephalus brasiliensis in Litopenaeus vannamei larval feeding was carried out, at the laboratory of pos-larval production of the Empresa Pernambucana de Pesquisa Agropecuária (IPA-PE), near Porto de Galinha in Ipojuca. The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of Dendrocephalus brasiliensis as food for Litopenaeus vannamei larvae and post-larvae.The Litopenaeus vannamei larvae (Protozoea PZ3) were stocked in 15 containers fill up with 10 liter of water, at a density of 100 larvae/L and grown during 18 days until post-larvae (PL10). The experiment consisted of 5 feeding treatments: T1), live Artemia sp. nauplii; T2), live D. brasiliensis nauplii; T3), frozen D. brasiliensis; T4), a combination of live Artemia sp. nauplii and live D. brasiliensis nauplii; T5), a combination of live Artemia sp. nauplii and frozen D. brasiliensis nauplii. The Larvae were fed 8 times a day; during the first 2 days were putted 800 D. brasiliensis nauplii/L/day, form day 3 to day 6 were given 2000 D. brasiliensis nauplii/L/day and from the 7th day till the 4000 D. brasiliensis nauplii/L/day.The larvae were completed the metamorphosis to post-larvae (PL1) in, 169, 168, 170, 171 and 169 hours for treatments 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. The mean weight and length at (PL1) stage were, 444.444 μg and 6 mm for T1, 592.59 μg and 5.866 mm for T2, 224.082 μg and 5.733 mm for T3, 448.838 μg and 5.6 mm for T4 and 290.474 μg and 5.866 mm for T5. The experiment was finished at the PL10 stage when the post-larvae were counted to determine the survival rate. The survival results shown: 58.8%; 35.5%; 36.6%; 76.3% and 79.3% for T1, T2, T3, T4, and T5. At the end of this experiment the PL reach a mean weight and length of 1552.538μg and 8.833mm for T1, 1253.617μg and 9.2mm for T2, 690.413μg and 8.433mm for T3, 1522.717μg and 9.3mm for T4 and 1391.33μg and 9.466mm for T5. The results as survival rate data, metamorphosis time, final weight and lenght of larvae of each experiment obtained were statistically analyzed using ANOVA (P<0,05), Tukey and SNK tests. There are significant differences between the 5 feeding treatments. According to the results are concluded that D. brasiliensis nauplii (congealed or live) may be useful in combination with live Artemia sp. nauplii, as food for Litopenaeus vannamei larvae.

O objetivo desse estudo foi avaliar o desempenho do náuplio do D. brasiliensis como alimento para as larvas e Pós-larvas de L. vannamei. As larvas foram estocadas no estágio de PZ3 em 15 containeres (com 10 litros de água cada), numa densidade de 100 larvas/ L e criadas durante 18 dias até PL10. O experimento constituiu-se em 5 tratamentos alimentares de 3 repetições de cada: T1) náuplios de Artemia vivos mais microalgas; T2) náuplios de D. brasiliensis vivos mais microalgas; T3) náuplios de D. brasiliensis congelados mais microalgas; T4) uma combinação de náuplios de Artemia vivos (50%) e náuplios de D. brasiliensis vivos (50%) mais microalgas; T5) uma combinação de náuplios de Artemia vivos (50%) e náuplios de D. brasiliensis congelados (50%) mais microalgas. As larvas foram alimentadas 8 vezes ao dia, durante os primeiros 2 dias colocados 800 náuplios de D. brasiliensis /L/dia, do 3o ao 6o dia foram oferecidos 2000 náuplios de D. brasiliensis/L/dia e do 7o ao 10o dia foram oferecidos 4000 náuplios de D. brasiliensis/L/dia. As larvas completaram o metamorfose para PL1 em 169, 168, 170, 171 e 169 horas, para T1, T2, T3, T4 e T5, respectivamente. O peso e comprimento médios no estágio de PL1 foram 444,444 μg e 6mm para T1; 592,29 μg e 5,866mm para T2; 222,082 μg e 5,733mm para T3; 448,838 μg e 5,6mm para T4 e 290,474 μg e 5,866mm para T5. Experimento foi finalizado no estágio de PL10 quando foi feita uma contagem para estimar a taxa média de sobrevivência. Os resultados da sobrevivência foram, 58,8%; 35,5%; 36,6%; 76,3% e 79,3%, para T1, T2, T3, T4 e T5, respectivamente. As médias do peso e comprimento no estágio de PL10 ficaram em 1552,538 μg e 8,833mm; 1253,617 μg e 9,2mm; 690,413 μg e 8,433mm; 1522,717 μg e 9,3mm e 1391,33 μg e 9,466mm para T1, T2, T3, T4 e T5 respectivamente. Foram utilizados métodos estatísticos ANOVA, teste de separação de Tukey e SNK para analisar os resultados da taxa de sobrevivência, metamorfose, peso e comprimento média final, e encontradas diferenças significativas entre os 5 tratamentos alimentares desse experimento.
