Parâmetros ruminais em ovinos alimentados com palma orelha de elefante mexicana em substituição à silagem de sorgo

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of substitution of sorghum silage by the palm Forage Elephant (OEM) on the consumption of inhospitable neutral detergent fiber (FDNi); Rumen dynamics and Ruminal parameters in diets for sheep. Five male, castrated, unbred sheep with average body weight of 52, 9 ± 6, 0 kg cannulated in the rumen, distributed in a Latin square (5 x 5) were steed. The treatments were based on five of substitution of sorghum silage by forage cactus (0; 20; 40; 60 and 80%). There was a linear decrease in the ruminal dry Matter (DM), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and FDNi pools, while the Intake (KI) and Soil (KD) rates of DM increased linearly. As MS pass-through rates (KP); Ki FDN; KP FDN; KD FDN and KPI (FDNi pass rate) were not influenced. There was no interaction between collection times (0; 2; 4 and 6 h) and of substitution for any of the ruminal parameters. Ruminal pH decreased linearly, while as concentrations of the ruminal ammonia nitrogen (NAR), short-chain fatty acids were not, as well as the acetate: Propionate ratio, which was 3, 25, in the informartic function of the substitution. As maximum concentrations of NAR, acetate and Propionate were 26, 78 mg/dL; 45, 81 mmol/L and 44, 89 mmol/L; Estimated at 2, 36; 3, 44; and 3, 43 hours after feeding, respectively. Palm Forage Elephant ear Mexican can substitute sorghum silage up to 80% in the feeding of fistulated and cannulated sheep, without verb to negatively alter ruminal parameters and fiber dynamics.
