Resumo: The present work has the objective of exploring mathematical concepts in astronomy in order to provide more meaning to the themes of mathematics studied in the classroom and allow the student the experience of some situations that require the use of the knowledge already acquired. The proposal can be considered a motivational tool that will help in the quality of the teaching and learning of mathematics in high school. The work is divided into three chapters, which are divided according to the grades of high school: in chapter 1, the contents of the rst grade of high school, and so on. At the end of each mathematical concept applied in astronomy, are given one or more exercises for the content. It was, thus, meet one of the goals of the PROFMAT, which is the preparation of a proposal of the educational activity, ful lling one of the requirements of the program and at the same time developing an unconventional activity on application of mathematical content. And therefore useful for teachers of mathematics and physics in high school, in the same way that the undergraduate degree in mathematics and physics.

A proposta pode ser considerada uma ferramenta motivacional que vai auxiliar na qualidade do ensino e da aprendizagem da Matemática no Ensino Médio. O trabalho está dividido em três capítulos. Cada capítulo corresponde aos conteúdos matemáticos das séries sucessivas do Ensino Médio. Ao fi nalizar cada conteúdo matemático aplicado em Astronomia, são descritos um ou mais exercícios. Procurou-se, assim, atender a um dos objetivos do Mestrado Pro ssional em Matemática - PROFMAT, que é o de elaboração de uma proposta da atividade educacional, cumprindo um dos requisitos do programa e ao mesmo tempo desenvolvendo uma atividade não convencional na aplicação dos conteúdos matemáticos.
