Efeito da densidade do solo e da aplicação de composto orgânico sobre a biomassa e teores de nutrientes no milho e em atributos químicos do solo

When well utilized, organic residues lead to great benefits making organic matter and nutrients available to the soils. In this contest, the present study had the objective to verify the effect of the application of increasing dosages of organic compost on two soils submitted to different compactions. For this, three organic compost dosages were applied on 54 pots, in the amounts of 0 (test), 40 and 80 g dm-3, in two soils, being one an Argissolo Vermelho Escuro (AVE) and the other an Argissolo Vermelho Amarelo (AVA), colected on the Ap horizon on the depth of 0 to 0.20 m,conducted in tree densities (1.3, 1.5 and 1.7 kg dm-3) and three replicates. The crop used in the experiment was the corn (Zea mays), cultivar Itapuã 700. The variables evaluated were height and fresh mass (FM) of the corn shoot and levels of N, P, K, Ca, Mg and CO of the soil. The results obtained showed that the application of organic compost caused a significant effect on levels of macronutrients and CO available, inducing an increase in height and fresh matter in corn plants and that the soil compaction, enough to increase the densities from 1.3 to 1.7 kg dm-3, was able only to affect corn height
