Resumo: | Water is a natural resource of a renewable and abundant character on our planet, but the use of this resource without considering sustainability principles, associated to factors such as population growth and lifestyle have resulted in one of humanity's greatest problems - water scarcity . In Brazil, despite being a country with large water reserves, the availability of this resource is quite heterogeneous, including regions characterized by water scarcity. In view of this scenario, the present work aims at the elaboration of guidelines for the management of water resources, having as a case study the Academic Unit of Serra Talhada, Federal Rural University of Pernambuco and for its development the methodology used is based on two steps. In the first stage an environmental diagnosis of the university was carried out, and in the second stage, the guidelines for water resources management were defined. Considering the need to apply techniques that support the planning of water resources management with a focus on sustainability, the environmental diagnosis was developed based on the application of the PEIR (Pressure - State - Impact - Response) model, which enabled the structuring of information to identify the indicators that need to be monitored and to indicate what measures can be taken to support management decision making in the planning and management of water resources. Based on the application of this tool, it was stated that in response to the environmental problems arising from the current water management model, the monitoring and maintenance services of the hydraulic system should be elaborated and implemented in order to correct losses in the distribution; the projects to implement alternative sources of supply for less demanding uses and more economical technologies, in addition to projects focused on environmental education. In this sense, studies were carried out regarding the potentiality of possible alternative sources of supply to be used. In the second phase, based on the objective and precise consolidation of the data obtained, the general guidelines for the management of water resources were defined. Thus, considering the socioeconomic relevance of the university and the context of water scarcity in which it is inserted, the present work is necessary due to the lack of subsidies for policies of management of this resource. The guidelines are expected to contribute to combating waste and utilizing this resource efficiently, seeking the implementation of reuse and reuse in order to delineate a low-impact development as a new strategy for the structuring model of an enterprise sustainable development. |

No Brasil, apesar de ser um país com grandes reservas hídricas, a disponibilidade desse recurso é bastante heterogênea, possuindo inclusive regiões caracterizadas pela escassez hídrica. Diante desse cenário, o presente trabalho tem por objetivo a elaboração de diretrizes para a gestão de recursos hídricos, tendo como estudo de caso a Unidade Acadêmica de Serra Talha, da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco e para o seu desenvolvimento a metodologia usada está fundamentada em duas etapas. Na primeira etapa foi realizado diagnóstico ambiental da universidade e na segunda foram definidas as diretrizes para gestão dos recursos hídricos. Considerando a necessidade da aplicação de técnicas que fundamentem o planejamento da gestão dos recursos hídricos com foco na sustentabilidade, o diagnóstico ambiental foi desenvolvido a partir da aplicação do modelo PEIR (Pressão – Estado- Impacto- Resposta), que viabilizou a estruturação das informações de forma a identificar os indicadores que necessitam ser monitorados e apontar quais as providências podem ser tomadas a fim de embasar a tomada de decisão dos gestores na elaboração do planejamento e do gerenciamento dos recursos hídricos. Com base na aplicação dessa ferramenta, foi constado que como resposta aos problemas ambientais decorrentes do atual modelo de gestão da água, deverão ser elaborados e implementados os serviços de monitoramento e manutenção do sistema hidráulico, a fim de corrigir perdas na distribuição; os projetos para implantação de fontes alternativas de abastecimento para usos menos exigentes e de tecnologias mais econômicas, além dos projetos voltados à educação ambiental. Nesse sentido foram desenvolvidos estudos a respeito da potencialidade das possíveis fontes alternativas de abastecimento a serem utilizadas. Já na segunda fase, com base na consolidação objetiva e precisa dos dados obtidos, foram definidas as diretrizes gerais para a gestão dos recursos hídricos. Desta forma, considerando a relevância socioeconômica da universidade e o contexto de escassez hídrica na qual está inserida, o presente trabalho faz-se necessário face à carência de subsídios para políticas de gestão desse recurso.
