Resumo: The acerola (Malpighia emarginata D.C.) tropical species originating from the Antilles became a major plant economic importance to Brazil, mainly due to high content of vitamin C present in the fruit. Breeding programs have joined efforts to try to minimize the effects caused by the attack of Meloidogyne enterolobii (Sin.: M. mayaguensis), known as nematodes due to swellings (galls) formed in the attacked roots, which contributes to drastic decrease productivity. Obtaining resistant rootstocks constitutes the most efficient method of control. The objective of this research is to assess genotypes of acerola for resistance to M. enterolobii Yang & Eisenback, continuing the studies started in 2007 seeking rootstock resistant/tolerant adapted to Pernambuco Forest Zone. Twenty-one acerola accesses of the BAG UFRPE, as well as independent matrix were propagated by cuttings, which were planted in polyethylene bags. During 60 days were made inoculation of the plant parasitic nematode, the inoculum suspension consisting of 10,000 eggs and second stage juveniles (J2) of M. enterolobii. The evaluations were performed after 150 days. The reactions of the hosts were framed within the parameters setby the FR reproduction rate estimated by the ratio Pf / Pi, where Pf is the final population and Pi the initial population; gall index (GI) and egg mass index (IMO), using a scale of notes International Meloidogyne Project (IMP). Regarding the reproduction of the nematode was estimated the number of eggs per root system (ERS) and the number of eggs per gram of root (EGR). With values obtained by FR calculations, has become the highest value as a standard of susceptibility and calculated that the reduction percentage, framing the results of each genotype based on concept of Moura and Regis (1987). At the same time were estimated on fresh shoot biomass (FSB), fresh biomass relative to the root system (FBRRS) and dry matter (DM). The design was completely randomized with six replications. Among the different responses to the attack of the M. enterolobii we can highlight the resistant behavior of the genotypes 21 and 37.

Submitted by Mario BC (mario@bc.ufrpe.br) on 2016-09-20T14:58:27Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Allan Deyws Francisco da Silva.pdf: 1051578 bytes, checksum: a96eb23b9457ef89f0db5f7ae48844b2 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2016-09-20T14:58:27Z (GMT).
