Avaliação do suprimento sanguíneo e sua influência na integração de flapes cutâneos para recobrimento de feridas traumáticas em cães (Canis familiaris, L. 1758)

The healing process is a sequence of biochemical and cellular events that starts from the loss of skin integrity, which is called a wound injury, which is considered of great importance in veterinary medicine in the light of the high frequency with which they occur. Lesions resulting of traumatic avulsion are the most frequent in veterinary medicine and usually require the use of reconstructive techniques to correct or minimize the skin defect. Skin flaps have the intention of assuring a cicatrization capable of preserving anatomy,vascularization and function of the harmed tissue. It was aimed with this research to apply different cutaneous plasty techniques and evaluated the anatomical recovery and the involvement of blood supply on integration of flap and complete closure of the lesion. In this study were used eleven dogs,independent of breed and gender, presenting skin wounds of extensive area or located in articulation regions. After evaluation and previous clinical treatment, the animals were operated to recover the affected area using different flaps, according to the type of wound and available blood supply on adjacent area. In the postsurgical period, the clinical evaluation of the covered area was accomplished every three days until the ninth day, by the observation of presence of necrosis, edema, hyperemia, seroma, dehiscence and flap integration. At the ninth day, was one of the dogs to death and the other there dehiscence was observed in 50 % of the animals, being 20% total and in the oral cavity and 30% partially and on members; necrosis happened in 10% and flap integration was verified in 80% of the treated animals. It was concluded that the size of the flap, local tension and blood supply are essential factors for integration of flap.
