Resumo: Community trophic structure and spatial distribution of nematodes, in particular Meloidogyne spp. and Pratylenchus zeae, in soil at field renovation and harvest of sugarcane (Saccharum spp.) are fundamentals for understanding shifts in population dynamic and consequent effects on crop production. The objectives of the present study were 1) to characterize plant parasitic nematode community, correlate trophic groups, and asses the influence of crop field renovation and harvest period on nematode community under different edaphic and climatic conditions at Northeastern Brazil; 2) to compare variations on population density of Meloidogyne sp. and Pratylenchus sp. in areas with different edaphic and climatic attributes, from crop field renovation to harvest, using regression models and the area under population density curve (AUPDC) of the nematode to evaluate the variations; and 3) to characterize the magnitude of spatial dependence of Pratylenchus sp. population densities in sugarcane roots and map the populationdensities using geostatistics. Evaluations were carried out in Zone of North and South Mata of Pernambuco and South Cost of Paraíba, in costal tables and swamp, lean and sheet lands. The results pointed out that plant parasitic nematodes population dynamic is dependent on physic-chemical soil characteristics and possible sugarcane variety. In lean and sheet lands from South and irrigated costal table from North Mata Zone of Pernambuco, the dominance of plant parasitic nematodes tended to increase highly along with crop development, although decrease in taxa abundance was registred. Contrary situation occurred in no irrigated costal table (North Mata of Pernambuco and South Coast of Paraíba) and lean landof North Mata of Pernambuco. In swamp lands, abundance and dominance of plantparasitic nematodes and the other taxa seem to be lowly affected during crop season. Among the plant parasitic nematodes Meloidogyne sp. and Pratylenchus sp. were the dominant taxa in all areas and periods evaluated, except in lean and swamp lands from South Mata at harvest in which the dominant taxa were Helicotylenchus sp. and Xiphinema sp. Epidemiological studies pointed out that in swamp, lean and sheet lands Pratylenchus sp. population increase described quadrate function. None of the tested model fitted Meloidogyne sp. population density on the studied areas, neither any parasite on costal tables. The lowest (P≤0.05) values of AUPDC for Meloidogyne sp., in soil or root, occur in lean and sheet lands, and the highest (P≤0.05) in costal tables and swamp. To Pratylenchus sp.the lean land and costal table showed the lowest (P≤0.05) AUPDC in soil and root, respectively. The highest (P≤0.05) AUPDC in root occur in no irrigated costal table,swamp, sheet and lean lands; and in soil in sheet and lean land. The highest reproduction factor of Pratylenchus sp., in soil or root, was verified in costal table, and the lowest in swamp in root. In swamp soil Meloidogyne sp. and Pratylenchus sp, with no association, inverse correlated with mensal precipitation. In contrast, at the same area, the highest Pratylenchus sp. population densities in root were associated to the highest mensal precipitations. In lean and sheet lands the accumulated precipitation negatively affected Meloidogyne sp. e Pratylenchus sp. population density, especially the second one, in root and soil, similarly to swamp. Geostatistic evaluations pointed out that the spherical model best fitted in all areas evaluated. In general, swamp land and costal table areas showed weak dependence in contrast with lean and sheet lands that dependence ranged from weak to strong, depending on sampling period. According to semivariograms, they are isotropic models, in which one model is enough to describe the nematode spatial variability. Thekrigagen maps showed Pratylenchus sp. spatial variability with gradual increase in sampling.

Thekrigagen maps showed Pratylenchus sp. spatial variability with gradual increase in sampling.A estrutura da comunidade trófica e distribuição espacial de nematóides, em particular Meloidogyne spp. e Pratylenchus zeae, presente no solo por ocasião da renovação e colheita da cana-de-açúcar (Saccharum spp.) são fundamentais para compreensão das variações na dinâmica populacional desses organismos e conseqüentes efeitos na produtividade agrícola. Os objetivos do presente estudo foram: 1) caracterizar a comunidade de nematóides parasitos de planta, correlacionar grupos tróficos e determinar a influência das épocas de renovação e colheita de canaviais na comunidade de nematóides em diferentes condições edafoclimáticas do Nordeste; 2) comparar as variações nas densidades populacionais de Meloidogyne sp. e Pratylenchus sp. em áreas com diferentes atributos edafo-climáticos, no período compreendido entre a renovação e a colheita da cana-de-açúcar, usando modelos de regressão e a área abaixo da curva da densidadepopulacional (AACDP) do nematóide para avaliar as variações; e 3) caracterizar a magnitude da dependência espacial das densidades populacionais de Pratylenchus sp. em raízes de cana-de-açúcar e mapear as densidades populacionais desse parasito usando geoestatística. As avaliações foram conduzidas na Zona da Mata Norte e Sul de Pernambuco e Litoral Sul da Paraíba, em áreas de tabuleiro, várzea, encosta e chã. Os resultados obtidos indicaram que a dinâmica populacional dos nematóides parasitos de planta é dependente das características físico-químicas do solo e, possivelmente, da variedade de cana-de-açúcar cultivada. Em áreas de encosta e chã da Mata Sul e tabuleiro irrigado da Mata Norte de Pernambuco, a dominância dos parasitos de planta tende a aumentar sensivelmente com o desenvolvimento da cultura, embora declínio na abundânciados taxa seja verificado. Situação inversa ocorre em tabuleiros em regime de sequeiro (Mata Norte de Pernambuco e Litoral Sul da Paraíba) e encosta da Mata Norte de Pernambuco. Em áreas de várzea, as abundâncias e dominâncias dos parasitos de plantas e demais taxa parecem ser pouco afetadas durante o ciclo da cultura. Entre os Parasitos de planta, Meloidogyne sp. e Pratylenchus sp. foram os taxa dominantes nas áreas e épocas estudadas, exceto na colheita em áreas de encosta e chã da Mata Sul, cujos taxa dominantes foram Helicotylenchus sp. e Xiphinema sp. Os estudos epidemiológicos indicaram que em várzea, encosta e chã o crescimento populacional de Pratylenchus sp. descreveu função quadrática. Nenhum dos modelos usados descreveu adequadamente as variações nas densidades populacionais de Meloidogyne sp. nas áreas estudadas, nem o comportamento de quaisquer dos parasitos em tabuleiros. Os menores (P≤0,05) valores da AACDP para Meloidogyne sp., no solo ou raiz, ocorreram em encosta e chã, e os maiores (P≤0,05) emtabuleiros e várzea. Para Pratylenchus sp. as áreas de encosta e tabuleiro apresentaram os menores (P≤0,05) valores de AACDP na raiz e solo, respectivamente. As maiores (P≤0,05) AACDP na raiz ocorreram em chã, encosta, tabuleiro não irrigado e várzea; e no solo em chã e encosta. O maior fator de reprodução de Pratylenchus sp., em solo ou raiz, foi detectado em tabuleiro e o menor em várzea na raiz. No solo, em várzea, a densidade populacional de Meloidogyne sp. e Pratylenchus sp., isoladamente, correlacionaram-se inversamente com a precipitação mensal. Ao contrário, na mesma área, as maiores densidades populacionais de Pratylenchus sp. na raiz estavam associadas às maiores precipitações mensais. Nas áreas de chã e encosta a precipitação acumulada afetou negativamente a densidade populacional de Meloidogyne sp. e Pratylenchus sp.,principalmente a do segundo, no solo e na raiz, semelhante ao que ocorreu na área devárzea. Os estudos de geoestatística indicaram que o modelo esférico proporcionou o melhor ajuste para a maioria das áreas. Em geral, as áreas de várzea e tabuleiro apresentaram grau de dependência fraco enquanto nas áreas de chã e encosta a dependência variou de fraco a forte, dependendo da época de amostragem. Considerando os semi-variogramas obtidos, trata-se de modelos isotrópicos, onde um único modelo foi suficiente para descrever a variabilidade espacial do nematóide. description Community trophic structure and spatial distribution of nematodes, in particular Meloidogyne spp. and Pratylenchus zeae, in soil at field renovation and harvest of sugarcane (Saccharum spp.) are fundamentals for understanding shifts in population dynamic and consequent effects on crop production. The objectives of the present study were 1) to characterize plant parasitic nematode community, correlate trophic groups, and asses the influence of crop field renovation and harvest period on nematode community under different edaphic and climatic conditions at Northeastern Brazil; 2) to compare variations on population density of Meloidogyne sp. and Pratylenchus sp. in areas with different edaphic and climatic attributes, from crop field renovation to harvest, using regression models and the area under population density curve (AUPDC) of the nematode to evaluate the variations; and 3) to characterize the magnitude of spatial dependence of Pratylenchus sp. population densities in sugarcane roots and map the populationdensities using geostatistics. Evaluations were carried out in Zone of North and South Mata of Pernambuco and South Cost of Paraíba, in costal tables and swamp, lean and sheet lands. The results pointed out that plant parasitic nematodes population dynamic is dependent on physic-chemical soil characteristics and possible sugarcane variety. In lean and sheet lands from South and irrigated costal table from North Mata Zone of Pernambuco, the dominance of plant parasitic nematodes tended to increase highly along with crop development, although decrease in taxa abundance was registred. Contrary situation occurred in no irrigated costal table (North Mata of Pernambuco and South Coast of Paraíba) and lean landof North Mata of Pernambuco. In swamp lands, abundance and dominance of plantparasitic nematodes and the other taxa seem to be lowly affected during crop season. Among the plant parasitic nematodes Meloidogyne sp. and Pratylenchus sp. were the dominant taxa in all areas and periods evaluated, except in lean and swamp lands from South Mata at harvest in which the dominant taxa were Helicotylenchus sp. and Xiphinema sp. Epidemiological studies pointed out that in swamp, lean and sheet lands Pratylenchus sp. population increase described quadrate function. None of the tested model fitted Meloidogyne sp. population density on the studied areas, neither any parasite on costal tables. The lowest (P≤0.05) values of AUPDC for Meloidogyne sp., in soil or root, occur in lean and sheet lands, and the highest (P≤0.05) in costal tables and swamp. To Pratylenchus sp.the lean land and costal table showed the lowest (P≤0.05) AUPDC in soil and root, respectively. The highest (P≤0.05) AUPDC in root occur in no irrigated costal table,swamp, sheet and lean lands; and in soil in sheet and lean land. The highest reproduction factor of Pratylenchus sp., in soil or root, was verified in costal table, and the lowest in swamp in root. In swamp soil Meloidogyne sp. and Pratylenchus sp, with no association, inverse correlated with mensal precipitation. In contrast, at the same area, the highest Pratylenchus sp. population densities in root were associated to the highest mensal precipitations. In lean and sheet lands the accumulated precipitation negatively affected Meloidogyne sp. e Pratylenchus sp. population density, especially the second one, in root and soil, similarly to swamp. Geostatistic evaluations pointed out that the spherical model best fitted in all areas evaluated. In general, swamp land and costal table areas showed weak dependence in contrast with lean and sheet lands that dependence ranged from weak to strong, depending on sampling period. According to semivariograms, they are isotropic models, in which one model is enough to describe the nematode spatial variability. Thekrigagen maps showed Pratylenchus sp. spatial variability with gradual increase in sampling.
