EVALUATION OF LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE OF DERMATOLOGISTS AND PLASTIC SURGEONS ABOUT AESTHETIC PHYSICAL THERAPY IN WEST OF THE BORDER – RS

Resumo: | Introduction: Currently there tends to integrate the specialties of Medicine and Physical Therapy, whichfavors patient care. Objectives: To ascertain the level of knowledge, frequency and causes of referral toaesthetic physical by dermatologists and plastic surgeons allocated to West Frontier, Rio Grande do Sul.Methods: cross-sectional, descriptive and quantitative study conducted with medical specialties of Dermatologyand Plastic Surgery by means of an adapted questionnaire. Results: 13 doctors, mostly male, age51 ± 11 years, working in the fields for 20 years. Of these, 11 (84%) knew that area of Physical Therapy, 7(53.8%) respondents refer their patients to the main indications were cellulite, edema and postoperative.It is noteworthy that the majority of referrals occur after a cosmetic procedure / surgery, 6 (46.1%) tendto discuss the case with the physiotherapist clinical and 8 (61.5%) guide the therapist through guides,dialogue and directly to the patient. Conclusions: These findings may signal that physiotherapy is stillconsidered only from the perspective of rehabilitation, without major knowledge about aesthetic physicalpre-and postoperatively. Still, it is a need for greater disclosure of the area and a greater number of specializedprofessionals, following the principle of interdisciplinarity for greater dialogue between professionals. |

Objetivo: Verificar o nível de conhecimento, frequência e causasde encaminhamento à fisioterapia dermato-funcional pelos médicos dermatologistas e cirurgiões plásticosalocados na Fronteira Oeste, Rio Grande do Sul. Materiais e Métodos: Estudo transversal, descritivo ede abordagem quantitativa, realizado com médicos das especialidades dermatologia e cirurgia plástica pormeio de um questionário adaptado. Resultados: Dos 13 médicos, a maioria do sexo masculino, faixaetária 51 ± 11 anos, atuantes nas áreas há 20 anos, 11 (84%) relataram conhecer essa área da fisioterapia,7 (53,8%) entrevistados encaminham seus pacientes. As principais indicações foram fibroedema geloide,edema e pós-operatório. Ressalta-se que a maioria dos encaminhamentos ocorre após algum procedimentoestético/cirúrgico, 6 (46,1%) tendem a discutir com o fisioterapeuta o caso clínico e 8 (61,5%) orientamo fisioterapeuta através de guias, pelo diálogo e diretamente ao paciente. Conclusão: Tais achadospodem sinalizar que a fisioterapia ainda é considerada apenas sob o prisma da reabilitação, sem maioresconhecimentos acerca da atuação fisioterapêutica dermato-funcional no pré e pós-operatório.
