Resumo: | 360º cameras and films made with Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) figure in the list of technological promises that marked journalism in the first decades of the 21st century. This article seeks to contribute to discussions on the use of these technologies, announced as proposals for innovation, as they cause immersion and empathy effects in the audience. We present a state of art on the theorization of these productions through the perception that the expectations related to the application of the propositions of these resources present weaknesses. Through a literature review, we compared the bibliographic production of researchers from Brazil and Spain. A discontinuity of defenses was noted, categorized into two distinct positions: a) a phase of proposals related to the use of these technologies to achieve transparency, participation and immersion of the audience, followed by b) questions about the applicability and future of these technologies for journalism. |
