Resumo: | There must be a relationship between what is taught in schools of architecture and urbanism and professional practice, even because the curricular guidelines determine the knowledge and skills that professionals of architecture and urbanism must possess. However, the professional market is being affected by the implementation of a complex work platform, BIM, which exposes the weaknesses of the current education system. In this article, we analyze the definitions and meanings of BIM in the light of the legislation on the teaching of architecture and urbanism found in the current legislation and in the very viability that Higher Education Institutions give to the so-called applied informatics disciplines, where BIM traditionally intends to be taught. The study that we present, part of the conceptual discussion about the terminology used to define what is BIM and of the analysis and appreciation of the legal proposals that support the teaching of informatics in the architecture schools. The objective of this work is to consider whether it will be possible to teach BIM. |

The objective of this work is to consider whether it will be possible to teach BIM.Deve haver uma relação entre o que se ensina nas escolas de arquitetura e urbanismo e a prática profissional, até porque as diretrizes curriculares determinam os conhecimentos e as aptidões que devem ter os profissionais formados nessas escolas. No entanto, o mercado profissional vem sendo afetado pela implantação de uma complexa plataforma de trabalho, o BIM, que expõe as fragilidades do atual sistema de ensino. Neste artigo, analisamos as definições e os significados do BIM à luz da legislação sobre o ensino da arquitetura e do urbanismo e da própria viabilização que as Instituições de Ensino Superior dão às chamadas disciplinas de informática aplicada, em que tradicionalmente se pretende ensinar o BIM. O estudo parte da discussão conceitual sobre a terminologia usada para definir o BIM e da análise e apreciação das propostas legais que sustentam o ensino da informática nas escolas de arquitetura.
