Resumo: This article deals with Venezuelan 's competitive posibilities for developing a sustainable tourism flow in the international market. At first, we evidence the national legislation for environmental and land planning, related with use and managment of touristic interest areas. The second part is concerned with the correlation between Peter Gray's theory and Venezuelan's Regions potenliality for tourism. Finally the conclusions and recomendations are pointed to thedevelopment of two touristic circuits, that will contribute to descentralize tourist export services and the setting of Venezuela on the intemational sustainable tourism market.

La primera parte se refiere a las directrices que contempla la legislación nacional vigente (ambiente y ordenamiento territorial) para el uso y manejo de áreas de interés turístico. En segundo orden se relaciona la teoría de Peter Gray con las potencialidades turísticas regionales del país. Se concluye con la propuesta de dos circuitos turísticos integrales que contribuirán a la descentralización de los servicios turísticos de exportación y al posicionamiento de Venezuela en el mercado internacional bajo el enfoque sustentable del desarrollo turístico.Universidade de São Paulo.
