Resumo: | The objective of this original study was to know the socioeconomic, training, and professional profile of the students of the Degree in Countryside Education at the Federal University of Piaui - (UFPI), Campus de Teresina, and to suggest actions to guarantee their access, their permanence, and your success. This is relevant research, as the knowledge of the students’ profile, of the social reality in which they live, contributes to the production of information that can be used as subsidies for the (re)planning of administrative and pedagogical actions, in a situated way. The universe investigated by the research was composed of 98 students of the Degree in Education of the Countryside of UFPI, campus of Teresina. Data were obtained through the application of a questionnaire during the 2019/2 school year. The results point to the need to structure and develop, in partnership with students, teachers and organized social movements, a public policy of student assistance that guarantees conditions of access, permanence and completion of the course, in order to guarantee the sustainability of the Degree in Countryside Education as a permanent and sustainable public policy. |

Trata-se de uma pesquisa relevante, pois o conhecimento do perfil dos estudantes, da realidade social em que vivem, contribui para a produção de informações que poderão ser utilizadas como subsídios para o (re)planejamento de ações administrativas e pedagógicas, de forma situada. O universo investigado pela pesquisa foi composto por 98 estudantes do curso de Licenciatura em Educação do Campo, da UFPI, Campus de Teresina. Os dados foram obtidos por meio da aplicação de um questionário durante o período letivo 2019/2. Os resultados apontam para a necessidade de estruturar e desenvolver, em parceria com os estudantes, professores e movimentos sociais organizados, uma política pública de assistência estudantil que garanta condições de acesso, permanência e conclusão do curso, de modo a garantir a sustentabilidade do curso de Licenciatura em Educação do Campo como política pública permanente e sustentável.Universidade de São Paulo.
