Resumo: Jorge Prelorán fue un cineasta argentino que realizó más de sesenta films entre las décadas de 1960 y 1990. Pero también difundió su pensamiento sobre el cine etnográfico mediante ensayos y entrevistas durante toda su carrera. Sus encuentros con los investigadores y realizadores más destacados fueron la base sobre la cual fue construyendo sus reflexiones críticas sobre el lugar de la antropología, la política y los métodos más apropiados para la realización de films “al servicio” de los otros. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar el pensamiento de Prelorán por medio de sus artículos y entrevistas.

But he also spread his thoughts on ethnographic film through essays and interviews throughout his career. His encounters with the most outstanding scholars and directors were the basis on which he was building his critical reflections on the place of anthropology, politics and the most appropriate methods for making films “at the service” of others.
