Resumo: | This is a methodological study, aiming to evaluate how folksonomies systems can contribute to indexing of films having as theoretical basis to Prototype Theory an derived theory from Cognitive Linguistics. To this end, an analysis corpus was created, consisting of 25 films indexed on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) platform under the term slasher, which refers to a subgenre of horror cinema. Through the IMDB plot keywords system, 631 unique terms were extracted from this corpus, freely assigned by the platform users. Next, it was analyzed which terms besides slasher were shared by more than one title present in the corpus, seeking to obtain those keywords with the highest semantic value for the delimitation of the slasher category. 43 shared keyword plots were identified, which are presented graphically according to their frequency level. We also find out which films were most central in the category, those that shared the most plot keywords with their peers. It was found that the most prototypical film within the analyzed corpus shares 19 terms with the other members of the corpus. The terms that the three most central films in the category share with their peers were presented graphically. It concludes by stating that the apprehension and description of characteristic attributes of the slasher cinematographic subgenre by the lay public is consistent with what is observed as significant by the specialized literature on the subject; From this, it is observed that the postulates brought by Prototype Theory are useful to analyses which attributes are semantically significant in the delimitation of a category, helping in the indexing process. |
