Information needs and user satisfaction: some considerations in the context of information users

Resumo: | Discusses the information needs and user satisfaction of information. Condition presents as problematizing the question: how is the relationship between information needs and user satisfaction, whereas, in private, the performance of the information centers? Aims to reflect on information needs and user satisfaction in a particularized way, as well as establishing their relationships contemplating prospects of action / relationship between users and information centers. Methodologically, the research is exploratory through a literature review that is especially from books, articles and gray literature that comprise the periods between the end of the 1940s of the twentieth century until the end of the first decade of this century (2010) that support the theoretical discussions of this bibliographic research. We conclude that the information needs and user satisfaction has been widely evaluated in terms of traditional (physical) and cognitive information centers, being necessary to consider the construction of a design paradigm of social-cognitive and interactionist through actions such as sustainable development of the information center, information services and mediation utilitarian information in order to think new perspectives in the context of information needs and user satisfaction. |

Tem como objetivo refletir, num primeiro plano sobre necessidades de informação e satisfação de usuários de forma particularizada e, num segundo plano, conceber as relações entre necessidades de informação e satisfação dos usuários contemplando perspectivas de atuação/relação entre centros de informação e usuários. Metodologicamente, a pesquisa é exploratória por meio de uma revisão bibliográfica. Conclui-se que as necessidades de informação e o processo de satisfação dos usuários tem sido muito avaliados do ponto de vista tradicional (físico) e cognitivo, sendo necessário atentar para a construção de uma concepção do paradigma sócio-cognitivo e interacionista no âmbito das necessidades e satisfação que contribua para uma autonomia dos usuários da informação.Universidade de São Paulo.
