Resumo: The idea of Lusophony originated with the advent of Portuguese maritime expansion and, since then, has gone through different understandings. The imaginary that entangles the notion of lusophony brings together culturally diverse peoples, especially when we think of the ethnic multiplicity of African nations that were colonies of Portugal. After the political independence of these countries, it was necessary to rethink the concept of Lusophony from a decolonizing perspective. In this sense, the article brings this problematization, reflecting on the protagonism of the south-south dialogue for the also literary emancipation of Portuguese-speaking African countries. We highlight in the discussion the doctoral thesis of the Brazilian writer Gramiro de Matos on the importance of Brazilian literature for African literature, as a liberating influence.
