Resumo: The young audience whose reading competence is in training, confront with continual crises, and in the pursuit of such competence has at its disposal mediation tools such as television, the internet and other media, which are true facilitators of receiption. However, such resources are questionable when it comes to reading as critical fruition. We propose to approach in The man who calculated, by Malba Tahan, certain features and characteristics that act as attractive responsible for the success achieved by this text by the youth, in a moment of suspension values and reengineering of reading skills.
