Resumo: The article addresses the author's pedagogical experiences and journalistic practice when he taught classes in a postgraduate course in Sports Journalism. A report has already been presented at the VII Southeast Regional Meeting on Media History, in 2022. The experience involves the Espírito Esportivo column, hosted on the Jornalismo Esportivo ECA/USP website. The objectives are: to preserve and disseminate the history of the sport; approach themes from the perspective of sports journalism for the production of guidelines not very well disseminated by the hegemonic media; encourage students to research and publish, in addition to adopting theoretical and practical notions for content production. The column was planned within the scope of the Popular and Alternative Journalism research group (ECA-USP). Through formats of the journalistic genre (MARQUES DE MELO, 2003) teacher and students contributed and participated in the teaching-learning process.

Os objetivos são: preservar e divulgar a história do esporte; abordar temas pela perspectiva do jornalismo esportivo para produção de pautas pouco divulgadas pela mídia hegemônica; estimular discentes a pesquisarem e a publicarem, além de adotar noções teórico-práticas para produção de conteúdo.
