This paper deals with Eduardo Fraile Valles’ poetry. Fraile Valles is one of the most important names in Spanish contemporary poetics, but being away from literary groups and movements makes it less known than it should. Mainly, we will pay attention to the seven books involved in the cycle “Apuntes del natural”, proustian project that Fraile Valles began in 2007 and concluded in 2017. We will study the textual construction of identity and memory, the poetic cycle as a tight network of cross-references and recurrent motifs, the construction of a memory space that only lingers in the poet’s word, and the intertextual and ecfrastical anchorage of the poems.
