Resumo: This report refers to an experience during the 1st semesterof2007 in the Project of Continuing Education for Teachers that is being practiced in the municipal district of São Caetanodo Sul, under orientation of the Project DICA (Didactics, Information, Culture and Art). The educator, Cristiane FernandesTavares, after tackling the importance of literary texts reading as permanent classroom activity with a group of 25 teachersof the Basic Education 3rd year, reflects on the conceptions that some teachers revealed about the activities of literary reading and the contributions brought by the experience.

A formadora Cristiane Fernandes Tavares, após abordar aimportância das atividades permanentes de leitura de textos literários em sala de aula, com um grupo de cerca de 25 professoras da 2a série (3o ano) do Ensino FundamentalI, reflete sobre as concepções reveladas por algumas docentes com relação às atividades de leitura literária e as contribuiçõesproporcionadas pela formação. Conclui que a literatura, enquanto patrimônio da humanidade, precisa se tornar acessível a um maior número de pessoas, especialmente aosprofessores, acompanhada de uma reflexão crítica que desvende a língua em sua expressão artística e contribua para uma formação leitora complexa e integral dos alunos.Universidade de São Paulo.
