Assistive technologies, blindness and low vision, cerebral palsy: a literature review

Resumo: This article aims to analyze some relationships presented in the literature of the last eight years on Assistive Technologies (AT) used to enhance the development of functional abilities of blind, low vision and cerebral palsy. For this, it was consulted the virtual libraries of Capes Portal and Scielo and selected for analysis articles related to the Brazilian goal. It was observed that the AT are mainly used for the development of language, mobility, motor skills and motor posture stabilization. Is reflected from that the existence of concern to the specific needs in question, which is essential for social inclusion that respects the rights of these individuals. Also, the need to continue investing in the area of AT through research project to develop new technologies focusing on the real needs of individuals and to perform professional and users to those that already exist.

Also, the need to continue investing in the area of AT through research project to develop new technologies focusing on the real needs of individuals and to perform professional and users to those that already exist.Este artigo objetiva analisar algumas relações apresentadas na literatura dos últimos 8 anos sobre as Tecnologias Assistivas (TA) utilizadas para potencializar o desenvolvimento de habilidades funcionais de pessoas cegas, com baixa visão e com paralisia cerebral. Para isso, foram consultadas as bibliotecas virtuais, Portal de Periódicos da Capes e Scielo, e selecionados para análise artigos brasileiros relacionados com o objetivo. Observou-se que as TA são utilizadas principalmente para o desenvolvimento da linguagem, locomoção, habilidades motoras e estabilização motoras de ordem postural. Reflete-se a partir disso a existência de preocupação com as necessidades específicas em questão, o que é imprescindível para uma inclusão social que respeite os direitos desses indivíduos.
