Resumo: Several challenges for the teaching of science and technology are presented, more specifically for the teaching of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), in contemporary education, attempting at calling the attention of teachers, school managers, and governmental agencies for the relevance of these challenges, if what we want is an adequate scientific and technological development for the XXI century society.
