Resumo: OBJECTIVE: To analyze the association between perception of quality of life (QOL) and sociodemographic variables in women street runners.METHODS: 75 women (30 to 60 years old) were stratified into two age groups, all of them street joggers (> 1 year) and regularly trained (± 3 x week). The WHOQOL-bref questionnaire was used to collect data, and these data were analyzed in an Excel worksheet. Additional analyzes, descriptive statistics and the Chi-square test (X2, p <0.05) were performed in the statistical program SPPS version 21.0.RESULTS: The highest QOL score wer observed for the Social Relations domain (16.3 ± 2.3), the lowest score was observed for the Environment domain (15.4 ± 1.9). The mean scores related to the four domains of QOL were 16.7 (± 2.5). The women participating in this study reached scores above 70% in all domains of QOL. The highest prevalence of high perceived QOL were observed for women classified as having a lower family income, 1 to 6 minimum wages (40%) and over 46 years of age. There was a statistically significant association between QOL and family income (x2 = 6.53; p <0.03) and age group (x2 = 14.19; p <0.01).CONCLUSION: Evidence indicates that, independently of the group studied, the perception of QOL is greater in people who practice some type of sport or physical activity.
