Resumo: | This article untitled The construction of the image in João Guimarães Rosa’s O Espelho in Primeiras Estórias and in Pablo Picasso’s Las Meninas was developed with the purpose of semiotically analyzing the works O Espelho, a short story present in João Guimarães Rosa’s Primeiras Estórias and Pablo Picasso’s painting Las Meninas, whose starting point was the baroque artist Diego Velázquez’s painting that has the same name, and from this analysis, theoretically based, to point out a possible intersection between both texts, since they clearly belong to the field of interdiscursiveness. Since the "mirror-time-image" is the main point of intersection between the verbal text and the visual text in this analysis, it is what initiates the undressing of the forms in Guimarães Rosa’s short story and the anamorphoses in Picasso’s painting, which is the Other in relation to Velasquez’s work – a point that is proposed and worked throughout this study. The research revolves around this process of reflection in which "o espelho" is sometimes understood as Guimarães Rosa’s short story, and sometimes as a cubist visual text, result of the baroque visual text; as well as the reflect-think of the readers/spectators, who also work as the image of the enunciations, since it is necessary to be positioned in front of the works in order to depurate them. That allows a specular view in its various degrees of timia. |

É o propósito desse artigo analisar as obras O Espelho in Primeiras Estórias (1962) conto brasileiro de João Guimarães Rosa, e Las Meninas (1957) de Pablo Picasso, óleo sobre tela, cujo ponto de partida pode ser identificado no retrato da corte espanhola de mesmo nome, elaborado pelo pintor barroco espanhol Diego Velázquez em 1657, e construir uma reflexão sobre o tema e as linguagens. A anamorfose, imagem aparentemente disforme, presente nas obras de Picasso pode corresponder à fragmentação intencional da linguagem que ocorre em muitos discursos verbais contemporâneos. A intertextualidade fica evidente entre o retrato picassiano e o retrato da corte de Velázquez, enquanto o conto brasileiro se situa no campo da interdiscursividade. Os enunciadores Guimarães Rosa e Pablo Picasso, movidos por elementos como retratos, conjunto de espelhos, leis da óptica, entre outros, estabelecem uma discussão sobre o processo de construção da imagem em um processo de interdiscursividade para criarem respectivamente o "ainda-nem-rosto", "menos-que-menino", e as anamorfoses presentes em Las Meninas do século XX. Adotando basicamente o jogo entre o inteligível, entendido como algo mais da ordem da cognição e o sensível, poderemos refletir sobre o interior dessas obras e a estrutura profunda que organiza a geração do sentido.
